Examples: Husky, Some Doodle breeds, Chow Chow, Australian Shepherd, German Shepherd, English Shepherd, Old English Sheepdog, Shetland Sheepdog, Newfoundland,  Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Beagle, Border Collie, Bearded Collie, Scottish Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier, Wire haired Fox Terrier,  Corgi,  Pomeranian, Shih Tzu.

PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE DEPENDING ON THE TEMPERAMENT AND CONDITION OF YOUR DOG’S COAT.

Matting Policy

Dalwood Paws Retreat values a painless and joyful grooming experience for their clients. Brushing or attempting to brush out matts can be an extremely painful experience. For this reason we do not de-mat or attempt to de-mat. If your dog is matted they may need to be shaved in circumstances where they are mostly matted. This practice is to prevent your pet from any undue stress and/or unnecessary pain.

Matts are generally knotted tightly together which means a short blade needs to be placed carefully between the matt and the skin with clippers or scissors so that the matts can be removed. Our groomers work delicately to do so. This procedure slightly increases the risk for minor injuries such as clipper rash, nicks or skin irritation. The temperament and condition of your dog will also impact this. At times our groomers may not be comfortable proceeding with this which depending on your dog and our focus is always in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety.

You will be consulted before action is taken. If your dog is too stressed or if we find that your dog is too matted during the service, you will be contacted and we will decide further action.

Additional charges will occur due to the process being time and labour intensive.

The additional charges will start at $30 depending on the size, temperament and condition of your pet's coat.
